The self-catering accommodation can easily provide for up to four persons comprising of one double bedroom with en-suite; a separate shower room with WC; a large ‘dream’ kitchen and a very spacious lounge with a comfortable sofa bed for two. Underfloor heating and a log burner make for a cosy winter getaway.

Space is something you’ll find in abundance – this was after all one of the most imposing stations on the line in its day, as befitted the Earl of Carlisle and his important guests who used it. The sitting room, for example, was the former waiting room, and the large arched windows flanked by the original shutters allow the morning sunlight to cascade into this delightful room. Two comfortable sofas and a large dining table with chairs are arranged within the roomy interior. It’s a very pleasing environment in which to relax, absorb yourself with your favourite book or watch 43” smart TV . And if you should need to stay connected to the internet, secure wi-fi is available at no extra charge.
